ULTRA Summit & GMITE Care
61% of lower income families have no children’s books in the home. This lack of books puts children at a disadvantage, because 75% of students who are poor readers in third grade remain poor readers in high school.
Children Read
Children Read is designed to improve the reading skills of children by giving them books of their own before they reach kindergarten. To do this, Children Read collects and repairs used and new books and then distributes them free of charge to children.
To help in the fight against childhood illiteracy, the ULTRA Summit and GMITE have partnered with Children Read and are asking each of our guests to bring a children's book to the event to donate. This is in no way required; only bring a book if you want to.
